Fuck, it's been half a year
162 days since I built this site, over half a year since I quit corporate, and exactly zero posts published. Until today. This is post #1—messy, late, and honest.
STARTING OVERRAW
10/17/20261 min read

First off.. can you believe we're already in the last quarter of 2026? And half of the month is already over. And you know what's worse? It's been almost half a year since I'd proudly showed off this website to some of my friends, and it's been over half a year since I quit corporate.
By now I'd imagined I would have started something. I honestly don't know what exactly, but at least there should've been some content on my Instagram page and more blog posts. And here we are... my first post.
First. Numero Uno. One.
I am appalled. And ashamed. And frustrated. And also done.
Done with putting this off.
Done with procrastinating.
Done with being afraid.
Because to be completely honest, I've always known that the reason I've been procrastinating all these times--aside from actually being away on vacation; actually scratch that, being on vacation is a weak argument because I know for a fact that I would be still be able to make time to work on this if I had decided to--is simply because I was afraid of failing.
I've known for the longest time that I wanted to write more. It has been the main intention of this space. To share my journey and eventually become a positive inspiration for everyone who's going through something similar.
But I was stuck in analysis paralysis.
What should my tone be?
Which topic should I start with?
And can I actually write well?
So many questions. So much self-doubt.
But re-reading my own About page re-ignited my engine.
And it also reminded me that:
Valerie Unfolds is where I document the whole messy, honest, unfolding process of starting over. The fear and the freedom. The good days and the days where I stare at the ceiling wondering if I made a terrible mistake.
And despite this little delay, I am still sure as hell that quitting was not a mistake.
Let's prove me right. ;)
